3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Mar 10)

1. A Fine Opener

Sammy Guevara Action Andretti
AEW

Sure, this Action Andretti business with JAS seems never-ending, but it's a better spot for a newcomer like Andretti to be in than Ricky Starks. This week, All Elite handed Action and Sammy Guevara the chance to jumpstart Rampage with a competitive, sometimes-stiff clash that progressed the story.

Could AEW do a better job of giving Andretti some character beyond 'young wrestler who's very athletic'? Absolutely. However, he was a hoot on Friday night, and the big table bump Action took (splashing Sammy through one on the outside) was impressively executed.

Later, Daniel Garcia ran out to cheat and help his stablemate win. That'll do nicely to set up Andretti vs. Garcia, or maybe even a rematch with JAS banned from ringside between he and Guevara. Now, about those promos that put at least one layer on top of Action's "young lion" persona...

...they're a must.
