3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Sept 8)

2. Honestly? A Bit Of A Mess!

Britt Baker Hikaru Shida
AEW

Hikaru Shida, Britt Baker and Skye Blue vs. Taya Valkyrie, The Bunny and Anna Jay was one of those short and unsatisfying multi-wrestler matches that doesn’t really help anybody. Things got sloppy and a bit messy towards the end, and the ref ignored cheating/who was the legal worker on each team.

More to come with that complaint.

You've got to wonder why matches like this are even booked when All Elite chiefs know it won't get much time and will be interrupted by a now-standard picture-in-picture ad break. Serving six wrestlers is borderline impossible given those restrictions, so Jay and Skye (in particular) barely got a look in at all.

Post-match, Shida aggressively fist-bumped Baker, so something is brewing there. That could be a real struggle unless one of them is willing to turn heel, because all it'll do is expose that Shida or Britt isn't quite as popular as the other.
