3 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's Impact Wrestling (May 3)
3. More Than A Weapon
Ever since Sami Callihan performed that baseball bat shot to the eye of Eddie Edwards, Edwards hasn't been all there. It was shown throughout his rivalry with Moose, and it's now been shown again here during his match with Fenix.
Killer Kross stood on the ramp for the bulk of the match, severely putting the former World Champion off his game. Towards the end, Kross lifted up Eddie's beloved Kenny the kendo stick and gestured it towards him, refusing to release his grip. In the end, it was enough of a distraction for the masked sensation to pick up a victory, but it leaves Eddie looking like a complete fool.
The weirdest part about all of this came after the bell. Kross left with Kenny still in his possession, leaving Eddie looking physically distraught. Apparently, this kendo stick is his best friend. In a way, it adds depth to his character that his best friend is a weapon as opposed to a person, seeing as several people have turned their back on him. In reality though, it feels as if Eddie's talents are being wasted in Impact right now. We know what he's capable of, so why use him this way?
