3 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Jun 26)
Downs...
4. Not Optimal 'Boneyard' Viewing
Before SmackDown even aired, this writer advised anyone who had been living under a rock, and therefore missed WrestleMania's 'Boneyard' match, to check it out on the WWE Network instead of SmackDown. The network TV airing was always going to have some ad breaks that'd destroy the flow.
That's what happened.
This was not the optimal way to enjoy The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles. WWE also seemed to cut out a few slower portions to keep things moving, which didn't really work as planned. Basically, if you were yet to enjoy 'Boneyard' in full, then SmackDown might've left you wondering what all the fuss was about in April.
If WWE were going to show this at all (and hype it as a main hook for the broadcast), then they could've at least cut a few other commercial-based promos elsewhere on the show to accommodate the length of 'Taker vs. AJ.
