3 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Jun 26)

Ups...

3. A Fun Eight-Man Tag

Gran Metalik The Miz

The Miz and John Morrison were Universal Title challengers five minutes ago.

WWE don't care, and neither should you the next time creative try to convince everyone that a goofy, rapping tag-team are credible threats to Braun Strowman. Miz and Morrison went from working with the brand's top champ to jobbing for Lucha House Party. That's quite the comedown.

The positive is that Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado never get to win on TV, so they'll be buoyed by this bit of shine. Another good thing is that the eight-man tag was all action (as expected). WWE really do this kind of 'one in, one out' match well; there's always something going on, and things click when the talent levels are high.

They certainly were here. New Day know their schtick inside and out, the Luchas are seriously underrated, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura and onto something with their team, and the Miz/Morrison combo play buffoonish heels to a tee.
