3 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 30)
2. Can We Come Up With Something New?
Those revolving door, 'I'm gonna win, no I'm gonna win' promos need a break. It's pretty lazy that WWE always reverts to type with these things, and has done since Money In The Bank was introduced as a concept back in 2005. Segments like the one on SmackDown are just too predictable.
Look, predictable isn't always the worst thing, but such formulaic entrance-into-promo trains are plain dull. Besides, the writers literally just worked this idea for these same workers during the build towards MITB a few weeks back. Come up with something new, please.
Special mention must go to Logan Paul. He flubbed several lines, seemed to get Grayson Waller's name wrong, and his line about everyone going "back to the pubs for a pint" was pretty lame. LA Knight almost saved things, but even his crowd interaction couldn't get the job done.
That's when you know you've booked a stinker.
