3 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 30)

1. This Was All A Bit Messy

Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka suffered from several, very-visible breakdowns in communication. At one point, Charlotte could even be seen hiding a wry smile at the referee. This was an off night for both women, which is strange considering they've worked top bouts before. It happens, eh?

Worse, Bianca Belair attacking Asuka then planting both she and Flair on the announce desk came off a tad flat. The general presentation of all three women is all over the shop at the moment. Asuka getting the loudest cheers despite being the only definite heel in the situation says it all.

That can't please WWE's decision-makers.

Messy from minute one would sum the match-come-angle up perfectly. It was an off night in-ring backed by another listless trope (Bianca "bought a ticket" to be at ringside for the match), and nothing came off for these ladies. Ouch!
