3 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage: Black Friday (Nov 25)
2. 10 Turns (For…Reasons!)
Anyone who reads this writer's stuff regularly knows he's no fan of The Dark Order. Is it a lovely reminder of Brodie Lee? Absolutely. Is the faction some must-see ongoing concern to AEW's product? Hardly. It's a dinosaur of the early days before better ideas came along.
On Rampage, Preston '10' Vance turned on The Order by aligning with Rush and cronies. This had actually been a fairly long-term story - Andrade El Idolo had courted 10 beforehand, and this was the payoff for that. It wasn't exactly worthwhile, mainly because the whole thing came across as Vance spitting on the memory of Lee.
Unnecessary? You bet.
10 turned during a so-so handicap bout pitting John Silver and Alex Reynolds vs. Rush, The Butcher and The Blade. It did get the required 'ooh' from fans, but Preston ripping off his Order mask and throwing it at -1 won't really lead to anything. So, in other words, it wasn't needed.
Why is he conspiring with Rush? Stop asking pesky questions, 'cause wrestling had another nothing turn to book.
