3 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Feb 27)

2. Singles Match Merry-Go-Round

In the WWE Championship scene, the merry-go-round of bland, uninspired singles matches with crap finishes continued with Sam Zayn vs. Baron Corbin this week. If you've been keeping up with the show lately, you already know how it went down. The action was house show-esque, the heat segments got nothing other than Rusev Day chants, and the finish was typically overbooked.

With Kevin Owens on commentary, Dolph Ziggler arrived and Superkicked his face off. This distracted Zayn, allowing 'Big Banter' to sneak up, hit the End Of Days, and score another inconsequential victory. An effective way to kill 10-12 minutes of airtime, but nothing else.

The good news is that this mega-feud should be over after next week. There's just one week of Fastlane build left, after which these wrestlers will all go their separate ways... with most likely falling into another tedious cluster feud. Can't wait for that.

Next week: a pedestrian six-man tag that either won't deliver a conclusive outcome, or will result in a pinfall victory for someone who definitely isn't taking the belt at Fastlane. Mark it down.
