3 Ups & 5 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Apr 12)
4. Another Pointless Match
This week’s opening contest saw Moose face Zachary Wentz of The Rascalz in another pointless encounter for the former. Why has Moose randomly got beef with The Rascalz? Because he doesn’t get invited to their little clubhouse? There’s just no proper story here to make it a viable reason to kick off the show.
For the latter half of 2018, Moose was featured heavily in the main event scene while aligned with then-World Champion Austin Aries. To see how far he’s fallen down the pecking order is a real shame – it’ll be a hard challenge for him to climb out of the hole Impact have dug him into here.
In fairness, the match itself wasn’t the worst. He and Wentz had some good moments during the bout, with Moose being such a dominating bad guy and Wentz being the plucky underdog. It’s just that without a proper story, there’s not much else to this match. Moose is facing Dezmond Xavier next week but after that's over and done with, hopefully it'll be the end of the rivalry (if you can call it that).
