3 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Hall Of Fame 2024 (Results & Review)

3. Hulk Gonna Hulk

Only Hulk Hogan could take a 15-second soundbite opportunity to say something nice about a fellow Hall-of-Fame inductee and make it about himself… and likely lie his ass off in the process.

During the video package for Muhammad Ali, Hogan appeared briefly to offer his thoughts. His comments? That every time he saw Ali, he’d put his arm around Hulk and say, "You’re the greatest of all time." And Hogan allegedly would say, "No, you’re the greatest.”

There is a chance this is true – that Ali would direct one of his most famous catchphrases at Hulk as a sign of respect. But Hogan is a known liar and self-aggrandizer, so it wouldn’t be surprising at all if he flat-out was lying in telling this story.

But more importantly, even if it was true, why was this even mentioned? What did it add to presentation of Ali as a Hall-of-Famer? How did that little anecdote bolster the case for Ali? It was a dumb story, even if true. Hogan couldn’t have spoken about the impact of having the Greatest of All Time ringside for the WrestleMania I main event and left it at that?
