Your writer, being from the country himself, is all for two Scots fighting over the NXT UK Women’s Championship. It needs to wait.
Kay Lee Ray confronted Isla Dawn backstage following her win over Aleah James, stating that if Isla had been this version of herself the entire time in NXT UK, then perhaps she’d be the Women’s Champion just now. Isla then stared at ‘The Queen of Insanity’ as the lights turned red a la ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt, and that was that. KLR knew this new Isla Dawn was rubbish and left before she too became sh*t by way of association.
Isla isn’t ready to be in the title picture. All Elite Wrestling did a similar thing recently with Abadon challenging Hikaru Shida at New Year’s Smash. She’s got an ‘out there’ character, so she must be able to have a good match, right? Wrong. It was one of Shida’s worst. The same fate will no doubt happen when Kay Lee Ray vs. Isla Dawn inevitably goes down, unless this was a tease for something that’s coming months and months into the future.
