5. WWE Does Realize He’s A Brand Champion, Right?
One thing that has become difficult to watch on WWE television during the past year is how far Dominik Mysterio has fallen since the high-water mark of WrestleMania 41.
Actually, you could point to last fall when Dirty Dom battled John Cena over the Intercontinental Championship, losing the title to him and then winning it back at Survivor Series in Dom's hometown.
Since then, what has Mysterio done? He has slowly become less of a presence on WWE programming, despite being a major focus of the company for more than three years. Dominik was on the verge of breaking through, potentially as a babyface, then was revitalized as a heel when Liv Morgan returned last year, only to see his role diminish as he’s feuded with Danhausen and been mired in middling, go-nowhere rivalries.
What’s worse is that Mysterio still is the AAA Mega Champion as the brand heads into its biggest show of the year in two weeks. Here’s AAA, about to hold their flagship event, and their top champion is struggling to beat a midcard rookie who has been getting battered by Big Cass for a month. Sounds like a recipe for success.
