3 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 7)

4. This Again?!

LA Knight Xavier Woods

WWE needs to have more in mind for LA Knight than missing WrestleMania and being some p*ssed off spoilsport who gets annoyed than fellow workers are playing video games backstage. This angle didn't work when Ember Moon's Nintendo Switch got broken years ago, and it won't work in 2023 with LA and Xavier Woods.

What next? A 'PS5 Controller On A Pole' match?

Fans have started to get behind Knight's cause in arenas, so him being some school playground bully who goes around smashing console accessories won't cut it. It'd be a fascinating experience to sit in on WWE creative meetings and find out exactly how writers reckon this will get him/anyone over.

Xavier has already beaten LA on TV too, meaning they'll be one win apiece when they wrestle again and Knight pins him (which will probably happen). 50/50 booking is coming, people. The backstage skit between LA and Woods came across like a bad repeat more than anything progressive.
