3 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 9)

Ups...

3. Maximising Minutes

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were only handed a few short minutes to hype their own WrestleMania match. They had to know that they'd be down the pecking order on this go home show, but both are skilled enough to maximise their minutes and make it work regardless.

That's exactly what they did.

Sami's on location promo at Logan Paul's gym in Miami was comedy gold, and so was his delusional rant at the announce desk. Then, KO attacked from behind to add some extra spice before they meet in Tampa. This was rock solid, didn't eat up much time, had clear purpose and didn't give the result away heading into Sunday.

If only all booking was this tight and well-executed. Zayn and Owens achieved more in two minutes than most other angles do in 15. That speaks to their talent, but also their willingness to take whatever WWE hand them and turn it into good TV.
