3 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 9)

2. Which Daniel Bryan?

What an opening salvo this was.

Daniel Bryan plays the underdog so, so well - he knows his role in Sunday's three-way, and he knows fans will buy some of the same elements again for his 'Mania XXX journey as well. That's why Bryan asked one simple question: WrestleMania 37 is huge for DB, but which one will turn up in Tampa?

It won't be GM Bryan, and it won't even be family man Daniel. No, it'll be the one with fire in his heart. A guy who was willing to say "Yes" when everybody else around him was shaking their head or saying no. Using that catchphrase as ammo against negativity was an excellent ploy from the babyface on Friday.

Bryan had something to constantly come back to during his promo. This was akin to those fiery speeches he delivered towards Triple H and The Authority back in 2014. It's the old Daniel Bryan, and it's good to have him back in time for the biggest show of the year.
