3 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 21)
3. Remember The “Important” WWE Draft?
Whilst it's cool that WWE wants to elevate NXT and make it seem important next to Raw and SmackDown, they...need to explain what happened here. Dominik Mysterio is a Raw wrestler, but he was on SmackDown defending an NXT belt. Why bother hyping up the Draft as important then do this months later?
Some out there might not care about that sort of stuff, but it proper gets on this writer's t*ts because he wants to take the Draft seriously. More fool him, huh? WWE doesn't give a rat's ass about it, and the thing only exists to try and push a quick rating for "special" editions of Raw and SmackDown.
Again, that's counter-productive.
Shawn Michaels being allowed to stop by mid-show and pitch NXT matches on a different brand flies in the face of WWE's on/off "ironclad rosters" deal. The fact they had all three shows represented in one segment here is pretty laughable.
