3 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 2)

2. Shenanigans Don’t Help

Orange Cassidy Penelope Ford Kip Sabian

The 'Lumberjack' main between Orange Cassidy and QT Marshall for the All-Atlantic Title was a step backwards for Cassidy's reign. There was far too much horsing around with The Factory, Firm, Danhausen, Best Friends, Penelope Ford, Kip Sabian and other moving parts.

AEW's product is at its best when it marries great production and simple storytelling with a love of athletic pro wrestling. The product is at its worst when it tries to become some bizarre love letter to the worst of WCW booking and independent wrestling buffoonery all wrapped up into one.

This was the latter.

Worse, the work between both men was weirdly sloppy and uncoordinated. Few could've expected that; QT is hardly Bryan Danielson, but he and Orange should've produced better than this. Maybe they were knackered by the overbooking, who knows?
