3 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 2)
3. Tony Khan Trying To Set Records?
Excalibur announced Juice Robinson's signing later in the show after the ex-New Japan man had cut his pre-taped promo. According to the masked commentator, Juice plans to make a big splash and prove himself to AEW fans by...going after a belt that's under the ROH umbrella.
Huh?
Yes, Robinson becomes the latest victim of a signing policy that's so obnoxiously geared towards some 'whatnextwhatnextwhatnext' approach. In other words, despite his clear talent, there's no room for Juice to breathe and settle into a role people care about. He'll only be followed by the next shiny toy in a week or two anyway.
Robinson challenged Samoa Joe for the ROH TV Title at Final Battle, because that's how to turn heads in All Elite Wrestling. Was any thought put into this? This company signs far too many talented wrestlers who are hot sh*t for maybe five minutes before quickly fading into the background and becoming just like everyone else.
Anyone else totally numb to it?
