3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Nov 2)

1. Back In The Title Hunt

Io Shirai Mandy Rose

Praise the wrestling Gods that WWE are finally ready to move on from that painful Io Shirai and Zoey Stark booking. It never really clicked, and it's fair to say that Io has way, way, way more to offer as an NXT Women's Title hurdle for new champion Mandy Rose.

That's the plan.

Shirai interrupted Mandy's self-love in at the top of the program to put herself in the frame for a title tilt. Then, Rose's Toxic Attraction buddies ambushed Io before Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter ran in for the babyface save. There's a six-woman tag coming up in this sextet's immediate future, folks.

This is a step forwards for Shirai regardless of that imminent one-off trios bout. She's a respected female star on this brand, and that didn't need to change even though everything else seemingly did during the whole 2.0 shift. Io vs. Mandy will be good if WWE splices in a stip that lets them brawl.

Rose proved at Havoc that she shines in such matches.
