3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Nov 2)
1. Far Too Many Squashes
Squash matches can be effective, but not when you book f*cking five of them on the same two-hour broadcast. This week's NXT had a handful of short, unsatisfying bouts that made some look like clowns and barely enhanced the winners. Again, that's frankly rubbish booking.
Dakota Kai vs. Cora Jade, Xyon Quinn vs. Robert Stone, Andre Chase vs. Bron Breakker, Solo Sikoa vs. Jeet Rama and Boa vs. Grayson Waller were all pretty much squashes. Only the Von Wagner/Kyle O'Reilly vs. Legado Del Fantasma and Trick Williams/Carmelo Hayes vs. Johnny Gargano/Dexter Lumis matches got some decent ring time.
This is especially depressing for someone like Jade. She has bags of potential, but she was made out to be some lowly jobber; even the commentary team buried her chances against Dakota Kai. Sure, Kai is a major star on the brand, but throw Cora a bone for crying out loud.
Poor.
