3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE NXT UK (6 May)

5. The Future Is Stevie, Apparently

Stevie Turner – the former Bobbi Tyler – could be a major deal in NXT UK one day, but she needs to work on her promo work. The problem she has isn’t necessarily with the way she delivers her words, as she got her point across; it’s just that point shouldn’t be the point she’s making.

WWE have majorly messed with Turner by plopping a tedious futuristic gimmick on her. She’s not two-dimensional like the rest of NXT UK’s women’s division, you see, she’s four-dimensional. That’s a whole two more dimensions! It’s also a dire promo, though.

Stevie repeated many of the same comments every other NXT UK newcomer has claimed. She’s going to work her through the ranks, she’s going to make her mark, she’s going to defeat everyone. This would suffice had she not lost to Aoife Valkyrie in what felt like a glorified squash match.

Seriously, why is she missing from next week’s gauntlet match? She shouldn’t be challenging for the NXT UK Women’s Championship quite yet, but then again, neither should Dani Luna, yet, she’s included in the crop. Another mind-boggling booking mistake.
