3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (7 Feb)

1. Friday Night's...Alright?

To sum up the negatives from this week's SmackDown, it was all so...meh.

The 'Friday Night Delight' was anything but, and almost everything barring Goldberg's challenge came across as inconsequential. That's a shame, 'cause WWE were honestly on a roll with SmackDown and banging out top shows with more good than bad. The latest was a bit of a letdown.

There's zero buzz for Super ShowDown, which doesn't help, and the company don't seem to know what to do with guys like Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan now they're waiting around for WrestleMania. Reigns feud with 'King' Corbin (who himself is in limbo, but can survive by being a jerk heel) must plod on and Bryan has been reduced to working with Heath Slater.

That's not meant as a slight on Slater at all. He barely appears on programming these days though, and it therefore felt small time that he was rushed onto screens as Daniel's latest opponent. This was the kind of show people will forget by Monday, and that's unacceptable during 'Mania season.
