3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 29)

3. Never Book This Again

Shanky Ricochet
WWE.com

Shanky had no business being in an Intercontinental Title match, and it should never, ever happen again. Also, Ricochet had to win with a "surprise" roll-up (which isn't surprising when it happens two-three times per show), and that hardly made him look strong.

Gah, Rico's IC Title reign is off to a rough start.

WWE obviously wanted to present the champ as a plucky underdog who fights against all odds to come out on top. That's fine, but...Shanky isn't over at all. In fact, people don't even take the big dude seriously as a giant. He hasn't done much during his run on the main roster, so fans are right to yawn their way through his work.

It's a real head-scratcher that someone backstage thought this would be a winner. Jinder Mahal might not have been a great challenger himself, but at least he's a former World Champion who could be relied upon to shine Ricochet up.

Please, never book a rematch of this.
