WWE are trying to force Ronda Rousey into being something she isn't.

The former UFC mauler is clearly at her best when the talking is done and she can get physical. This week's episode of SmackDown perfectly illustrated the difference between WWE's chatty Ronda and the one who just loves a right good fight. Lessons need to be learned there.

Elsewhere, poor Big E was struck down by a seriously grim injury during the show. It was 100% avoidable, and it means the ex-WWE Champion will likely miss WrestleMania 38. That's...horrible to report - the New Day member's 2022 has been a stinker thus far. It's depressing to think that things just got worse.

Back on the positive side, Ricochet has a fighting chance to make something of this Intercontinental Title reign. He can definitely build on this week's booking (and hopefully overcome niggling fears that he'll be a short-term experiment) with a few more wins pre-'Mania.

If Rico is happy, then Pete Dunne certainly isn't. WWE elected to rebrand the former NXT man on SmackDown. Say hello to "Butch", a name which might anger those who loved his run as the 'Bruiserweight'. Yeah, this was a messy episode.

Here's all the good and the bad from it.
