3 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE NXT UK (3 June)

In what is arguably the weirdest sentence your writer will ever type, WALTER is being treated as the Brock Lesnar of NXT UK at this stage. It’s true, though; he makes few appearances throughout the year, despite being the reigning NXT UK Champion. The only real difference is that he actually puts effort into his matches.

‘The Ring General’ has been announced to return next week, almost definitely to set up his next challenger. That challenger will inevitably be Ilja Dragunov, Joe Coffey, or Rampage Brown following their confrontation at the end of last night’s show. All would be certified bangers.

Why is this a Down then? Because it’s always the same story with WALTER. He comes in to set up a marquee title bout, has the match which always rips, and leaves again for a while. It happened with Ilja Dragunov at the end of October, and it happened with Rampage Brown at NXT UK Prelude. This needs to change. If that means WALTER dropping the title in front of no fans, then, sadly, so be it.
