3 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE NXT UK (3 June)

3. Frazer Steps Up
Pretty Deadly vs. Jack Starz and surprise partner Nathan Frazer doesn’t sound like a particularly standout match on paper, but when done like this, it’s actually a bit of a hoot, made only better by Frazer being Starz’s partner; a genuine surprise in wrestling is like nothing else.
It had all the basics of a standard tag team match, from the heels keeping the match in their side of the ring to the babyface hot tag, and that’s fine. The show already had two other banging matches in the opener and the main event, so this didn’t need to be too exciting. The champions tossing Frazer from the ring at various points of the match made them look like cheap champions, but it was a nice touch. They’re heels – they can win by count-out.
A blind tag after Nathan had been laid out on the barricade saw Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley hit poor Jack with the Spilled Milk – still the greatest name for a finishing move ever – to retain the gold. Again, nothing too spectacular here, but still some good moments.
