3 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE NXT UK (3 June)
1. Oh, He's Still Here?
These travel restrictions really are tough; it took Jordan Devlin 56 days to get from the Capitol Wrestling Center back to NXT UK programming.
All joking aside, bringing ‘The Irish Ace’ back into the fold is a terrible booking choice, both kayfabe and legitimately. Kayfabe, there’s nothing for him to do in the brand anymore. He’s reached the peak by being the NXT Cruiserweight Champion; he doesn’t need the NXT UK Championship or the Heritage Cup. Here, he met Sid Scala at the UK Performance Center, laid out his demands that included a needless Supernova Sessions appearance, and left. Utterly pointless.
On a more real note, though, keeping him signed after the accusations that were made last June is simply asking for trouble.
Keeping him off television entirely for a few weeks after having him drop the Cruiserweight Championship isn’t enough. There’s never going to be enough time for anyone to forget what Devlin was accused of, let alone twelve months.
