3 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 20)

5. Legit Loser

Sasha Banks Lacey Evans

Speaking of Sasha, what the hell happened?

When the 'Legit Boss' romped back onto the WWE scene in August, she had an edge to her performances that helped her stand out. Going further, Sasha had an air of danger about her that made her a credible opponent for Becky Lynch and conjured up images of her NXT heel run. That's gone now.

The excitement surrounding Banks has steadily decreased since the summer. She's little more than Bayley's belt carrier now, and that's a crying shame; the lack of heat for Sasha's short scuffle with Lacey Evans was worrying. She's going nowhere fast, and is actually getting less over rather than the opposite.

WWE are gonna' have to find a way to arrest this decline before Banks is less relevant than she was pre-sabbatical. Her heel turn and brutal chair attacks on Becky, Natalya and others should've been a launching pad for her revival, not an all-too-brief relief from creative hell.
