3 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 29)
1. The Complete Lack Of Roman Reigns
No Roman Reigns = no 'Up'.
That's usually how it goes. The Universal Champion always slides his way onto the positive side of this chasm, largely because his segments/promos/matches are high calibre and entertain the p*ss out of this writer. Paul Heyman, by association, also fits that billing.
Not on Friday however. Heyman cut a nondescript promo with Kayla Braxton that discussed Brock Lesnar's £1 million fine. That, being honest, was about all he had to say. WWE are blatantly in time-killing mode here - they've got Survivor Series coming up, and that means they'll phone in some Raw vs. SmackDown stuff until late-November.
The knock-on effect of that is that Reigns might not need to appear every week, which makes SmackDown a much weaker show. It says everything about the 'Tribal Chief' that the roster felt thinner than usual without his presence.
Being fair, the same might also be said about Raw draftees Edge and Seth Rollins.
