3 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 29)

Ups...

3. Bumping Around For Drew

Drew McIntyre's open challenges are working for him.

His 'let's shut up and wrestle' (unintentional Eric Bischoff line about AEW there) promos are strait-laced and to the point. They fit his no-nonsense character, and formatting them to come after bloated promo trains is smart business. Then, when the bell rings, Drew backs up his words.

McIntyre is a giving-enough worker that even mixing it with the smaller dudes isn't a problem for him. Then, when it's their turn to bump and feed for him, he looks like an absolute monster. In short, Mustafa Ali was the ideal next opponent for Drew on this brand spanking new SmackDown run.

The way the big Scot chucked Ali around like an empty tracksuit was particularly pleasing. Again, he didn't eat Mustafa alive without giving the heel some key heat-seeking spots, but McIntyre shouldn't be having 50/50 matches with most on this roster whilst he's in build mode.
