3. A Good Showing For The Young OG

WWE Raw Je'Von Evans Rusev
WWE

Despite the criticism lodged earlier, it would be unfair to not acknowledge that Je’Von Evans and Rusev had a nice little match Monday night.

Rusev bodied Evans early on, tossing him around the ring and even over the barricade into the timekeeper’s area. But the Young OG sprung over the barricade to tackle Rusev and continued to fight back. They had a nice exchange where Evans slugged away and Rusev just dropped him with a single punch twice, until Je’Von finally strung together some offense.

Evans escaped the Accolade and went for an OG Cutter, but Rusev caught him and locked in the Accolade. Je’Von made the ropes, ducked the Machka Kick and kipped up into a stunner, then finished the Bulgarian with an OG Cutter for the win.

Good stuff here from Evans, with Rusev playing his role well. However, if WWE just sends him to the background – he’s not booked for SummerSlam – this will be for naught, and the earlier criticism will hold.
