3 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Oct 11)

2. No Problems Here

There undoubtedly were fans who saw the King of the Ring brackets unveiled last week and could see nothing other than a Kofi Kingston/Xavier Woods semi-final match.

So after Woods won his bout earlier in the night, Kofi’s fate seemed sealed against Jinder Mahal… only it didn’t. Mahal’s goons Shanky & Veer ran interference, allowing Jinder to take advantage during the melee. He snatched a diving Kingston and nailed the Khallas to advance.

Sure, it’s easy to understand fans being upset that they were “robbed” of a New Day confrontation, but instead, you get the easy-to-hate Jinder facing Xavier, who now has to avenge Kofi in the semis. That’s also a pretty compelling story, and it still puts Woods on a path to the finals.

We’ll understand if you consider this a negative, but we’ll let it slide by as an “up” here.
