3 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Oct 11)

2. WWE Hates Its Fans

That has to be the case, given how they handled their matches.

Two high-profile tag matches featuring forced-together tag teams fell apart, ending in a DQ and a count-out, just leaving fans to wonder why they should care about in-ring competition when WWE clearly doesn’t. A battle of one-half of the tag champs and half of the #1 contenders lasted less than three minutes. A re-debut of Austin Theory had a 24/7 comedy segment riveted right into the middle of it. And two women’s tournament matches lasted a combined five minutes.

You don’t need to be some huge workrate fan here to notice that the in-ring action was severely lacking. Despite having one of the most talented rosters in the world, Raw turned in a substandard performance this week.

And while you could excuse it if we were given a bunch of highly entertaining promos and segments, there isn’t a Rock, Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels or Mick Foley on this roster, so the entertainment factor wasn’t exactly at a high level.
