3 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Jan 25)

5. Google ‘Burn Victim’

Do you ever wonder how a company like WWE continues to make money despite being utterly incompetent at everything?

Monday’s shining example came in the waning moments of Raw, when Randy Orton showed up to RKO Alexa Bliss (yes, that’s a thing that happened). Unlike last week, Orton wasn’t wearing his generic luchador mask, so we got to see WWE’s makeup team’s interpretation of his burned face.

And it was not pretty… in a purely ironic way. Apparently, the makeup team Googled “sunburn,” because Orton’s face was simply red and scaly, much like it would be if he spent a few long days out in the Florida sun with only SPF 4 on, not like he was burned by a fireball.

It was comical, and really just sad. If you can’t deliver the effective, shocking visual, then keep his face hidden and leave it to the viewer’s imagination. Because this nowhere met Randy’s descriptions of his disfiguration last week.
