3 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Jan 25)

6. Flair Versus Flair

Uggh. Can someone please hit the “abort” button on this father-daughter rivalry between Ric and Charlotte Flair?

No one wants to see this. Perhaps Charlotte said it best when she said her dad was going from “legend to old man,” though she could have included “dirty” and “sad” in there. The entire storyline is just sad: Ric apparently wants to belong, and Lacey Evans is paying him attention, so he’s hooked around her little finger. This is like the Al Wilson/Dawn Marie/Torrie Wilson storyline, but worse.

And none of this makes you want to see a still-not-ready-for-prime-time Lacey face off against Charlotte.

Sadly, Charlotte’s take fits this best: Ric’s legacy is getting sullied every time he goes out there and does this sort of thing, as he’s now a dirty old man taking up with a woman less than half his age and looking less and less like a 16-time world champion.
