The big finale of the show was the much-hyped three-way confrontation between AJ Styles, John Cena, and Dean Ambrose. Styles was out first, bragging about being WWE World Champion, but he was interrupted by Ambrose. "The Lunatic Fringe" started to make fun of Styles and his self-applied nicknames, when finally, John Cena came out.

Neither Styles nor Ambrose were happy to see Cena. First Styles got in his face, talking about how he didn't want to hear Cena cut his usual promo, then Ambrose was next, telling Cena the same thing. Cena then decided to skip the promo and attacked Ambrose, leading to a fracas. He knocked Styles out of the ring, then gave Ambrose the AA.

Cena posed with the belt, but Styles was back in, tackling him and giving him the Phenomenal Forearm. He took his belt and tried to head to the back, but Ambrose laid him out with Dirty Deeds to close the show. All in all, everyone had good chemistry and it's sure to carry over to the main event of No Mercy.
