A real surprise here, not least that the match was on the show at all. Lorcan and Burch are perennial bit players in NXT, not much more than named jobbers destined to put up a good fight before losing to more prominent members of the roster. It was also a bout between two bald guys in black trunks and looked like it could have come from an episode of World of Sport.

The match was a punchy brawl with Burch getting a bloody nose early on. Burch wore it well and looked like even more of a proper hard man. The match kicked into high gear when Lorcan smacked the hell out of Burch as the moves got as the moves got stiffer and the crowd reacted with glee.

The finish was a beautiful transition into a submission hold which put the capstone on a surprisingly memorable outing for two men who haven't been given the chance to shrine.

The match seems part of an attempt to make a named player out of a jobber. Lorcan is an unlikely star, a weird-looking chupacabra of a man who seems composed primarily of gristle. If NXT can pull it off and get the crowd behind him, he could be a full-on underdog babyface.
