3 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 21)
1. Hurt Business Lays In A Hurting
When the tag match between MVP & Bobby Lashley and Riddle & Jeff Hardy was announced, you figured that either Riddle or Lashley would be picking up the win against either MVP or Hardy, respectively.
And that’s exactly what happened in a nice piece of simple angle advancement. It’s clear we’re moving toward Riddle challenging Lashley for the United States Championship, so having the two pick up wins against their future opponents’ teammates is an easy way to go here. In this case, it was Lashley reversing a Twist of Fate into a Hurt Lock for the tap-out.
This comes a week after Riddle squashed MVP in singles action. Throw in a decent promo segment where the contrast between the two camps – Hurt Business is all about gold, champagne and custom suits, while the Hardy Bros are about enjoying life and not treating others like they’re less than you – couldn’t be clearer, and you’ve got a ready-made feud.
Plus, the match itself should be pretty good.
