A month before Shawn Michaels called Sid the "most expensive piece of luggage" in the organisation, he proved his psychological strength carrying the bulk of a breathtaking main event.

Madison Square Garden fans had turned on 'HBK' by November 1996, but he gamely worked through the disdain to put the monster over ahead of his hometown rematch in January. Better than his Elimination Chamber showing in 2002, it was perhaps Shawn's best ever night in 'The Mecca', even if he couldn't quite steal the show.
