As they did for every pay-per-view in 1988, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth stood tall at the climax of the main event, but the Macho Man's immaculately-acted envy following a celebratory embrace between 'The Hulkster' and his better half sowed yet more seeds for their eventual explosion.

The match had been expertly booked to lead into the maniacal moment too. Savage took a sh*tkicking while a handcuffed Hogan took an eternity to escape. If he wasn't already narked with his glory-hogging partner, he was bound to flare up after seeing Hogan's pythons wrapped around his bride.
