19. Stephanie McMahon Shoots On Charlotte Flair
In 2016, Charlotte Flair truly came into her own, delivering a string of thrilling in-ring performances while serving as the face of WWE’s revived Women’s Championship as it rose from the ashes of the defunct Divas Division. Her partnership with her father Ric initially added to her act, with 'The Nature Boy' stationed at ringside to help solidify her status as a dominant force.
But as her reign progressed, cutting ties with Dad was the logical next step in establishing her as a ruthless, self-sufficient heel. What she didn’t anticipate was being humiliated by the most ruthlessly self-sufficient figure in company history - Stephanie McMahon.
Despite Charlotte’s entire character being built around escaping her father’s shadow, Stephanie took centre stage in a Monday Night Raw backstage segment, tearing 'The Queen' down simply because she could. With no provocation, McMahon labeled Charlotte a “spoiled, selfish, self-important brat” and ordered her to “step back and shut your mouth”, without even allowing a response.
