Drew Carey was backstage at the Rumble to plug his Improv All-Stars pay-per-view show, and ended up being offered a spot in the Rumble match by Vince McMahon. Cue Carey entering at #5, watching the Hardys take each other out of the match and then looking on in sheer terror as Kane came in at #6. Carey tried to shake his hand and bribe him with cash, neither of which worked, as Kane grabbed him for a Chokeslam, but the #7 entrant, Raven, saved Carey by nailing Kane with a singapore cane before he could land the move. This gave Carey the opportunity to do the smart thing and quickly climb over the top rope, eliminating himself. Comedy spots in the Rumble can be pretty terrible, but this one actually worked, and resulted in Carey being inducted in the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011, by Kane no less.
