Or, more precisely, Sting's wrestled 'Mean' Mark Callous, the bad biker motherfunker that Mark Calaway played in WCW.

The match occurred in September 1990, shortly before Calaway jumped ship to the competition and was handed the gimmick that would make him world famous.

Taking place at the Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina, the match was well-received enough that it was due to be repeated at another house show on the loop - but by then it was too late, and ‘Mean’ Mark was on his way out.

Two months later, Calaway was beating the !*$% out of ‘the American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes at Survivor Series while wearing washing-up gloves and grey legwarmers. Wrestling’s a funny business.
