3. Chris Jericho Was Totally Lost As Champion

The Rock Stone Cold Steve Austin
WWE

Right, about Jericho.

The company mishandled his first proper World Title reign between Vengeance 2001-WrestleMania X8. 'Y2J' played second fiddle to everything from Triple H’s failing relationship with Stephanie McMahon and the nWo’s arrival, to even Ric Flair’s in-ring comeback and the nostalgia wave of Hulk Hogan. He was totally lost out there, and that was unfair.

Jericho revealed in his book that Vince McMahon ribbed him before he'd even won the belt. That set the tone for everything to come, and is probs why his title run was a failure. What was the point in putting Jericho over two mega-stars like The Rock and Steve Austin in one night if he was only going to be booked like European Champ?
