30 WTF Moments In Hulk Hogan's WWE Career

7. Running For President

On the Thanksgiving 1998 episode of The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Hogan announced his retirement from professional wrestling. He then followed up with the news that he was going to be running for the office of United States President. Fans were stunned. It looked like Hogan was very serious about his intentions, and Eric Bischoff even ran a WCW press conference which supported the bid. Cringe campaign footage was even played on Nitro. But it never went any further than that, amid allegations that it had all been a publicity stunt to drum up interest in WCW. Still, you wouldn't put it past Hogan to genuinely fancy himself as the leader of the free world. Just imagine how he would've played politics in the oval office!
