In another WCW world title controversy, Hulk Hogan became World Champion at Bash At The Beach 2000, after Jeff Jarrett simply lay down and let Hogan make the pin. This came about because Hogan had played his creative control card with Vince Russo, insisting that he become the World Champion. Russo had no choice but to agree, but then screwed Hogan over by having Jarrett lay down from the off. Hogan was expecting a ten minute match and was bamboozled when Jarrett simply went down. He made the pin anyway and then went home, leading to Russo coming back out later and stating "that piece of s***" will never be in a WCW ring again.
