This is not a celebratory article.

On Wednesday, 15 April 2020, numerous talents lost their jobs with WWE. The ongoing health crisis has hit many companies hard, but these releases are nonetheless shocking. Some may even consider most of them cold, and it's never nice to report on anyone being fired or let go from their deals.

The sad truth is that nothing lasts forever in the pro wrestling business. Several old stagehands like Jim Ross and Bruce Prichard (who worked closely enough with Vince McMahon to consider him a friend) have said as much on their respective podcasts. WWE is an evolving beast, and that will never change.

Nonetheless, the wrestling community at large is still reeling from an avalanche of cuts by a promotion most considered financially secure even amidst global uncertainty. For some, the future will be bright - WWE is not longer the only major company to work for, and the industry does provide if one is talented enough.

For others? Who knows. All anyone does know for sure is that everyone on this list is currently out of a job, and that truly sucks in this current climate.
