9. Edge Vs. Alberto Del Rio - WrestleMania XXVII

His internet detractors have taken to labelling Cody the King of the *** Match, since he dares do something with the space between moves, but that moniker surely belongs to one Alberto Del Rio: throughout both of his WWE runs, the man assembled several matches that were near-flawless mechanically, even exciting as the final third clicked into gear, but bereft of the genuine investment required to put them over as truly memorable.

This was one of his better offerings, a limb-destroying story match in which he was framed as both calculating and vicious, but, since Edge never performed as well in the face role as he did donning the black hat, this too was somewhat lacking in soul.
