We enter much-of-a-muchness territory here, with the first of several multi-man ladder match offerings, but there's a reason why WWE opted to open 'Mania with this genre as the event flourished in the stadium era: if the purpose of the opener is to unglue the crowd, there are few better means of achieving that goal than by booking the athletic fliers to collide into "steel" and flesh alike from terrifying and dangerous heights.

At one point, Kofi Kingston attempted to injure two of his opponents, locked under a ladder, with a double Boom Drop. It looked like he shattered his bloody ankles without even grazing Kane and Christian in just one spot too illogical to buy.

Still, these things are invariably exciting at a minimum, and this was no exception - because there aren't any.
